Not for the first time Bayern Munich’s coach Pep Guardiola’s wish of managing the Gunners has been revealed. The master tactician had declared he is ready to actualize his long standing wish of one day managing in the Premier League come the summer having turned down the idea of an extension with the Bundesliga champions.
Goal understands that Manchester City are the favourites to land the Spaniard but sports writer and columnist Tony Evans has joined Balague in admitting that Arsenal would be the former Barcelona manager’s number one choice.
‘Ever since he took that time off after Barca, he’s talked about clubs that attract him,’ Evans told the Evening Standard.
‘The problem is, the position’s not open. It might just be a case of wrong place at wrong time, which is sad for you Gunners.
‘He’d be a perfect fit. It does worry me there’s no plan for the succession at the Emirates.’
Guardiola has enjoyed a trophy laden managerial career so far with Barcelona and Bayern Munich haven burst into the scene with 14 major honours won in his four years at the Camp Nou. With Wenger yet to call his time at Emirates, Pep would have to consider moving elsewhere……….. For now.
