Arsenal’s first signing of the summer Petr Cech has sent a personal goodbye message to Chelsea fans after officially completing his switch from west London to north London today.
The 33-year-old in a well detailed letter, revealed his displeasure at having to leave Stamford Bridge, but admitted he was frustrated on the bench and is delighted to be given the chance to continue with the beautiful game elsewhere.
Cech in his message, thanked Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, admitting it was he who granted his request to make the switch across London.
It is worthy of note however, that the veteran goalkeeper snubbed former boss Jose Mourinho in his message, leading to suggestions of bad blood – when the Portuguese manager tried his possible best to sabotage his plans to join Arsenal.
It cannot be said as an error, but a deliberate act by Cech not to acknowledge Mourinho in his goodbye message.
This act has led many Arsenal fans to tag the Czech Republic star with an Arsenal legendary status, barely 24 hours after he signed for the club.
Below is the tweet-message signed by the veteran goalkeeper himself.
