Arsene Wenger wants to sign three players this summer as he looks to improve his squad ahead of next season.
According to the Daily Mirror via goal, Arsenal have identified Kostas Manolas, Granit Xhaka and Alvaro Morata as the club’s summer target.
Xhaka has been linked with a move to the Emirates since last winter transfer window and with the club reportedly preparing for a summer overhaul of the midfield this summer, Wenger has identified Xhaka as his top target and has reopened negotiations to sign the midfielder.
It is believed that Wenger is interested in paying as much as £35m for the midfielder and offer him a salary package worth about £120,000 a week.
Manolas has been a long term target of Arsenal also with the club coming close to signing the defender few seasons ago and according to recent indications, Wenger has renewed his interest in the centre half and would try to sign him again in the summer when the transfer window opens. Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering is centre back options as he searches for a new man to partner Laurent Kolscieny in the heart of the defense.
As Wenger looks to strengthen the attack this summer, he has also turned to one of his former targets and has made signing Juventus striker Alvaro Morata his priority this summer, according to the report. The Gunners have been linked with a number of top strikers ahead of next season as Wenger prepares to improve the squad but Morata is the main man Wenger has identified for Arsenal.
